SolidWorks Enterprise PDM supports functions like engineering change notices (ECN)/engineering change order (ECO) processes, and integration and connectivity to MRP and ERP systems.  Workflow diagrams define the paths of documents and related information through the various processes, along with responsible individuals and their access rights (read, modify, approve, etc.).  Plus, automatic e-mail notifications that prompt team members on actions required at specific stages.
