SolidWorks 2010-2011 Student Design Kit
As part of our licensing program each student and educator belonging to a school equipped with SolidWorks Education Edition licenses (according to conditions specified below), can download a SolidWorks Student Design Kit.
SolidWorks student products may only be used by students and educators on their own computers. Intended uses include completing homework assignments, student design projects, preparing course materials, learning more about SolidWorks, and other educational purposes.
Eligibility to purchase the SDK 2010-2011
A school owning a minimum of 10 licenses can download the new version of SolidWorks Student Design Kit (2010). Once a student accepts the agreement, this special license will be valid for a period of 150 days.
SolidWorks SDK is a very large (1.8GB) download.
The following are required:
- A broadband Internet connection
- An Ethernet cable connection between your PC and your Internet connection hardware (router, cable modem, etc.)
- At least 8 GB of available disk space to download, install, and begin using the product effectively
At the expiration of 150 days, if you still meet the requirements, you may download the new version of the SDK. Otherwise, you can always buy the new version of SolidWorks Student Edition (2010-2011) if you wish to continue using this software.

- Before installing the SDK license, make a backup of the data on your PC. It is also highly recommended to uninstall older versions of the SDK .

Special conditions
- The SolidWorks Engineering Stimulus Package features the same functionality as the Student Design Kit (SDK) and is based on that product. You may find some references to SDK within the software and documentation.
- Educational institutions are not allowed to use the SDK. The SDK license
cannot be resold, transferred, leased, altered or copied. If the software license agreement is violated, you will forfeit your right to use the software.

- Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional (32-bit and 64-bit) or Windows Vista™ (32-bit and 64-bit) (Windows Vista Ultimate, Business and Enterprise editions only)
- Intel® Pentium®, Intel Xeon®, Intel Core™, AMD Athlon™, AMD Opteron™, or AMD Turion™ class processor
- 512MB RAM or greater required (512MB to 1 GB or greater recommended)
8GB minimum available hard disk space - Pointing device
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
- Microsoft Excel 2000, 2002, or 2003 required
- A tested OpenGL workstation graphics card and driver combination (See: System Requirements and Graphics Cards)
